FISH - Fellow Irish Social Hub

Description

The Fellow Irish Social Hub (FISH) is an independent, non-profit organization that invites Notre Dame students, faculty, alumni and local community members to help develop socially innovative ideas into for-purpose enterprises. FISH provides a full suite of incubation services to promising social entrepreneurs through a centralized infrastructure. This support hub connects inspired intellectual and human capital with vital sources of professional and financial capital to deliver positive, sustainable change to the afflicted populations amongst us.

Throughout the semester, FISH team members work on analyzing impact funds. Members conduct industry research, company due diligence, and evaluate financial performance of two potential investment opportunities. This project allows the team to learn about the impact fund industry, looking to find firms that are focused on both social impact and financial returns. The project culminates with a research presentation and investment recommendation to members of the Notre Dame Investment Office and Directors at the IDEA Center.
